Diuen a Vilaweb i a LaFarga.cat que a la Universitat de València han traduït el llibre Rebel Code d’en Glyn Moody.

La traducció no ha estat fàcil per l’abundància de termes tecnològics com ‘hacker’, que han traduït per ‘furoner’, d’acord amb el Termcat. Per Guia, sense el Termcat la traducció hauria estat gairebé impossible. Sigui com sigui, tant Guia com Stocco se senten orgullosos de la feina feta.
És un punt menys per a comprar-lo. Furoner no és una traducció adequada quan es parla de programari lliure, s’assembla massa al que seria un cracker.
El Termcat el que fa és proposar paraules i la gent se suposa que té criteri per a acceptar o no la forma proposada. Seguir les recomanacions cegament no pot ser bo i en aquest cas està clar que no ho és. Per cert, que em sona que el Termcat ja accepta hàcker des de fa poc. Ho comprovaria, però cal registrar-se al web per a fer-hi cerques (!) i no en tinc ganes.
